It has all the features of the hosted Banana Scrum plus some exclusive features and it can be hosted on your own servers, inside your own internal network.

We have decided to create this product, because we were asked for it many times by people who liked our Scrum tool but a company policy, security concerns or just a preference prevented them from using an external, hosted tool.

Functionality of this version of Banana Scrum is and will remain essentially the same as that of the hosted public version with the following key exception: domains functionality and registration form will not be available in the Professional version, as we feel those functions make no sense in this context. Also, there are some minor differences, for example connection to the server over HTTPS protocol will require your own SSL certificate etc.

In the future we plan to keep the functionality of the hosted and Pro versions essentially in sync. Of course, there will be some exceptions caused by their different context. For example, if we ever decide to develop, say, LDAP integration for the Banana Scrum Pro we won't include it in the hosted version etc. Conversely, OpenID integration would be useful in the hosted version but useless in the Professional.
